Siblings Meet

As my mom was leaving the hospital she mentioned that I could take something to help me sleep. She asked the nurse to see if they could ask my doctor. I ended up getting to take an ambien. Sam left to go back home too and I sent Sally to the nursery for the night. This is one perk about delivering a baby in Utah and since I was not exclusively breastfeeding I was able to know that she was being taken care of and held while I slept. I was able to get a goods night rest.

Tuesday morning was fun. Teddy and Macy were able to come and meet their new sister; Teddy was very precious with her and Macy was a sweet rough, lol
Meeting Sally for the first time.
Love at first site for this little buddy
.Happy Daddy
Happy Grandma
Taylor, Anne, Tiffani and the kids came down from Heber to visit in the was a lot of people, but I enjoyed introducing them to Sally and they all loved her
Uncle Marshall stopped by and got to feed her; it was nice of him to take a moment to come
Just some randoms at the hospital...chunky cheeks
She looked different to me each time I looked at her. It was weird. Teddy and Macy looked alike at birth but Sally looked different; has her own little look

We had a few other people come visit the hospital but I did not take any pictures =(. Allen, Cintia and Ezra came by and so did my friend Jana.

Tuesday night, I took another Ambien and let Sally go to the nursery again. We were able to get the go ahead to head home around 1 on Wednesday. We had been waiting all morning for my doctor to authorize the release but no one could get a hold of her; come to find out they had gotten the release the night before but just skipped over it for some reason. Anywho, it was a great stay. I had awesome nurses, awesome doctor and an overall good experience.

SHE'S HERE: The Birth Story of Sally Jane

SO HERE’S THE BIRTH STORY-I do not recall much of the details from the middle of the day but I do remember getting there and then the active labor and birth =)  I love love love birthing babies; I have loved the births of Teddy and Macy and now I get to add that I loved the birth of Sally as well. I love the whole experience; I love the anticipation, the excitement, the vulnerability, the whole process. If I could be pregnant and birth babies for a living, I would do **some pictures might show a little bit of skin**

June 15, 2015-I could not really sleep the night before, I was anxious and apprehensive. I was worried that when I called the hospital the next morning they would be too busy and we would not be able to come in. For Teddy and Macy, when I called they said to come right in but for some reason I felt Utah might be a little different; and that proved to be correct. I called them around 6 am and they said they were very busy and to call them back in an hour or so. It was one LONG hour; I finally called them back at 7 and they said we could come in; I was so happy to hear that. We finished getting ready and headed to the hospital. We got to the fifth floor and there was someone at the reception desk already, so they asked us to sit in the waiting room for a few minutes. Finally it was our turn; the nurse that checked us in name was Sheri, it was spelt the same way as my mom; thought that was cool.
We made it to our room around 7:45 and got gowned up and ready to start the day. Our nurse was Mylinda and she was very nice; she checked me and I was still at a 2, where I had been at the doctor the previous week…I had a feeling it might be a long day but was hopeful that this baby girl would come fast. It ended up being a long day of not much progress; so there is not much to write about, as I really cannot remember at what points or at what times I progressed in dilation.
My mom had Teddy and Macy and she ended up meeting my sister Tiffani at a store, and then they went to lunch and then went to BYU to pick up my nephew at a football camp; they met up with my brother’s wife and went to the rec center to swim and then my mom took the kids home for naps. That was around 2 or so. I do not remember what time I decided to have the epidural but it was sometime between
There was little progress all day, around 5, my mom dropped the kids off at my friend Cintia’s house, it was so nice of her to watch the kids for me. She and Tiff came to be with us at the hospital.  Around 6, I was still at a 5 and I did not think this baby would ever come. We started taking guesses at 6:30 when we thought baby girl would get here and what her weight would be. My sister Ashlee was on the phone at this time, so she was in on the guessing. I don't like guessing but ended up adding my time and weight too. Sam started with guessing 7:25 (6 pounds 9 ounces) , Tiffani said 8:26 (5 pounds 14 ounces), my mom said 9:04 (6 pounds even), I said 10:00 (6 pounds 6 ounces)and Ashlee guessed 10;10 (6 pounds 3 ounces).

Around 7:30 the nurse brought in this medicine ball thing that they call a peanut; it looks line one and they have you lie on your side and put the ball between your legs and its support to help the baby descend in the birth canal. She checked me right before I got on the ball and I was to a 5.5; I was mentally gearing up for a few more hours.
Around 7:40, Tiff decides she was going to go and get something to eat. She left and about a minute later, I started feeling tons of pressure and was not sure what to do. My epidural had never really picked back up since the first time it had wore off; so I was very uncomfortable. I told Sam that I was feeling different but was not sure what it was. He asked if I wanted him to get the nurse and I told him no; I felt like I was overreacting. About a minute later, I told him the pain was getting worse and had so much pressure that he said he was going to go get her. She came in about 7:45 and checked me and had the crazed look on her face; she told me I was complete and ready and she was going to go get the doctor. I could not believe what she was saying, I had been a little over a 5 not to long ago and now we were ready to meet our little girl. We called Tiff who was just getting into her car; so she came back up. The nurse came back into the room and said that my doctor had gone home since we all thought baby girl was not going to make her appearance for a few hours. She lives in Spanish Fork and was heading back. I was told I needed to keep on my side with my legs down since she was ready to come; the pressure was increasing by the minute and I could feel a lot more than I had with the other two. With Teddy, they had diminished my epidural by 25% and I was comfortable with his birth; with Macy, I had hit the juice button on the epidural about 15 minutes before she came, so I could not feel anything at all; I told myself to push like I had with Teddy and she came out. For this baby, I could feel less than 50% more like 25% but the edge was still diminished; I am so grateful I had at least that. Being on the Pitocin had really intensified the contractions and anything I had helped. I am not the kids of person that knows how to relax and get inside my own head, like others when they go unmediated, so again I was grateful the edge was off and I had just enough to be able to concentrate on keeping this baby inside of me until my doctor got there.  There was an intern doctor that came in and talked to us while we waited; I think they set him in there just in case something happened and I could not hold her in, lol.

After what felt like FOREVER, my doctor got there…it was actually around 8:15, so it had been 30 minutes since the nurse had checked me and told me I was complete and ready. I was so glad to see her and it only took a minute to set everything up, the intern doctor had had everything ready. I started pushing around 8:17 and she was born after 2 big pushed and one little one to get her shoulders out.
Here she is coming out...the first picture shows the intern doctor and the second shows more of my doctor. And you can see my sweet awesome nurse in the back ground; it was the second nurse for the day and I cannot remember her name, but she was great.
My young AWESOME doctor. I took a risk going for a younger doctor (who is actually younger than me) but in the end it was a good decision. I very much liked Dr. Andrews and the experience with the women's center at Valley OBGYN
  The time was 8:18
After a long day, I was so happy she was here. I love love giving birth, the exhilaration of labor and delivery, is something I could do over and over again. I was happy that my mom and sister were there to witness this miracle. Baby girl was three weeks early, so all our guesses were that she would be in the 6 pound range; both my other kids had been 2 weeks early and 7.9 and 7.4; at first glance I thought she looked smaller than my other kids but she ended up weighing more than Macy (I must either grow big babies or my due date was wrong) she weighed in at 7 pounds 7 ounces and 19 inches long (the same as Teddy and Macy :)
After a few minutes, she started having a little trouble breathing, so they brought up a NICU nurse and we watched as she put this tube down her throat and pumped up a ton for fluid. It amazed me how calm the nurse was as we were watching kinda freaking out. She started doing a ton better once all the fluid was out of her lungs and that meant she got to stay with us and not go down to the NICU

Sally with Mommy and Daddy

My mom and sister left to grab some dinner and we went down to the nursery. They brought me to my recovery room while Sam stayed with Sally while they cleaned her up.
When I got back to the room, I was in a lot of pain, I had asked for some medicine but it did not seem to help ease. I realized I had to use the restroom and I felt if I could have a bowel movement I would possible feel better. I told the nurse this and she said that she would need to help me and bring in another nurse as well. I told her I was feeling okay enough to go but she said it was policy. Another nurse finally came and they helped me to the bathroom. It was a little awkward with my main nurse standing in the bathroom door while I was trying to use the restroom; I finally asked if I could just use the throne in peace. She again said it was policy that the first time using the bathroom they had to be there and watch or whatever; I knew that I would not be able to get comfortable with her there so I told her I was done, she helped me back to my bed and then left. I waited a few minutes and then go up and walked back to the bathroom and did my business in peace and it was exactly what I needed.

Sam and Sally made it back to the room and then came Tiff and my mom. They stayed for a little while and when they left, it was just me and the baby. It was at this time that I was able to reflect upon the events of the day and relish in the fact that I now was a mother of three and had just brought to this world a new precious little girl. I definitely had fears but also excitement; this little soul was mine and she made me happy.

PHILLIPS Family Reunion in Utah

We got back from Florida on the 19th of May. Macy was suppose to have a doctors appointment in the morning on the 20th but they had called to postpone it. The kids pediatrician had surgery and was having some complications; they asked me if I had wanted to just see the PA, but I wanted to see their doctor; I had some questions about Macy for her two year well visit and really just wanted to see the doctor, so I rescheduled hers for a few weeks later. I had two doctor’s appointments on the 20th; the first was with the Orthopedic and the other with my OB...I got my stitches out at my first appointment and then at the OB visit, my blood pressure was still high but not too bad, my iron was really low so they put me on supplement and set another appointment for two weeks out.
The stitches are out =)

Randoms for the rest of the Month
 Coloring with Daddy
We went to the jump place one evening; we called Marshall and Sara and we met up. The kids had a blast; they had not seen Jaxon and Lyla for a while and played well
Riding the horse and the elephant
Uncle Marsh build a huge wall of foam blocks, and the kids ran through...they had fun
 We went bowling
We have loved doing this!! My hands still hurt a little so I did not bowl, but had fun watching them
Me and my girl...and 34 weeks preggo
Macy was always up in my business while I worked; and most of the time my kids would be in their jammies all day long, or no clothes at
We met up with Annie and the girls one day at Swig...we got cookies and a drink...YUM. I wish I was better and meeting up with them, the kids love seeing Lev and King.
We started going to the waterfall every week; it was something that the kids loved. I would sit and watch as they ventured our into the water. Teddy sometimes would climb the hill on the other side. I was scared watching him but he always made it
Sacked out
We met Cintia and Ezra at the pool a few times. The first time we went; Teddy loved going out with Ezra and swimming. But then as we were about to leave, he took of his life jacket but decided to go in the shallow end when another friend came. He ended up slipping and going under. He stood right up but got spooked and said he was never coming to the pool again. I got him to come on other occasions, but he would not venture out like he did that first day,
Sam played on Taylor's work's softball team again. One Monday when Annie was out of town, I watched all 4 kids while the boys played. The girls love watching their daddy play.
Sam is very creative. He made these masks for the kids; it was a hit...they loved pretending to be a lion and a pig
We started having a picnic everyday on my lunch break. Sometimes Sam would take the kids out a little earlier and let them play and then I would bring the food down. We had the perfect little spot right outside out place. It was a nice break to our hectic days
I never got a HUGE belly; I just gained alot of weight over my whole entire body. AND my legs swelled so so bad again and they hurt all over. With Teddy, my legs were very swollen but I was able to massage them or have Ashlee massage them; this time around and with Macy, I could not even touch them without them hurting so bad

Ready for church
A few years ago when we were in Kansas for Davy and Bree's wedding; we decided to try and have a family reunion for The Phillips Family, every two years. 2015 was the year we were planning on the first one. Sam's parents were in charge of the first one and decided to have it in Arkansas. SO, it was not good timing for us to get pregnant. We told his parents that we probably would not be able to make it. Same thing happened with sam's oldest brother Callan and his wife Karey; they did not have the resources to make it either. As plans were coming together, Marshall and Sara mentioned that we could hold the family reunion in Utah at a Cabin in the Unita's owned by Sara's family. They made the decision to move it to Utah so that we all could make it. We planned to have the reunion on the week of June 8th through the 12th. We met Marshall and Sara up at the cabin a few days before the reunion to clean up a bit and then Sam's family arrived on Sunday June 7th. I had to work that week and could not get the time off; so I spend my time going back and forth between our house and the cabin, which was about a 25 minute drive.
Sam's mom created a little fishing game. She had gotten some presents for all the kids and they loved putting the fishing pole over the blanket and getting a prize
Fisherman Teddy and Princess Macy
Teddy, Jaxon and Liam
I brought Macy home with me each night and the first evening she slept on my floor in my
Tuesday afternoon, all the family came to our house to shower and do a few things in town. Teddy fell asleep in the car and transferred to the bed. The kids went swimming and had a blast.
I had a doctors appointment on Wednesday June 10th; I had brought breakfast out to the Cabin that morning and left Macy with Sam and his family. My blood pressure was elevated at my appointment and the doctor took one look at my legs and left to make some calls. Part of me wanted the doctor to say that they would take her on the 11th; so that Sam's family could meet her but when she came back into the room, she said they would take the baby on Monday; which was the 15th; hearing those words made me so happy. I was sad that Sam’s family was leaving on the 14th and would miss seeing the baby by a day, but was happy that the end was in site. I called my mom on the way home from my appointment and told them that they would take her early. She had a flight to come out on June 22nd but was able to change it to come on the 14th. My sister Tiffani and her kids also were coming in the 14th to spend the summer our west. I let her know if she wanted to she was more than welcome to come to the hospital at any time and could be there for the birth. My sister and her family have lived in Dubai and Qatar for the last 6 years. They moved to the states in March of this year and it was nice to think that she would be able to be part of this experience. She has had to miss out on alot of events and finally here was one where she could be there. After my appointment, I went up to the cabin and let Sam's family know and we had a nice evening.

Thursday was a interesting day. The family was suppose to come into town to do an activity but Sam's mom's brother Bill ended up bringing some 4 wheeler's and they stayed up at the Cabin to ride them. I was working all morning. At one point I felt something was off; I saw a air medic helicopter and said a little prayer everyone was alright. I was running a little late finishing up work and finally got Macy and I ready and heading up to the Cabin. When I got there I knew something was wrong. Sam's brother Davy and his wife Bree had been in an accident. The 4 wheeler they were on had slipped off the side of a ravine and had flipped. Marshal had taken them to the hospital. Macy was sleeping in the car at the time, so I ended up taking Sam's parents down to the hospital. Sam came down a little later with Teddy and Jaxon. After a long while, they were able to be released. Davy was okay but Bree had broken her leg very badly. It broke my heart to see such an awesome person in so much pain. They had a flight early in the morning to go home. So they ended up staying at our house that night and I brought them to the airport the next morning. I dont know how she did but but they made it home. It was a stinky way to end the reunion but so so grateful it had not been worse. In the news that same weekend, there had been a few people who had died in ATV accidents. We are very thankful that they were okay.
Friday, the family spent time cleaning the cabin and then we went out to eat with Sam's dad's sister Nancy and her family at chuck a rama; we had a nice time
Sam's family left to go home Saturday morning. We spend the afternoon home but decided to get out in the evening. Friday had been out 6 year wedding anniversary but since his family was still in town, we decided to do something as a family on Saturday. We ended up driving to the Draper Temple and showing the kids where we got married. We then went to TJ Maxx and let the kids pick out a toy and then we ended the night at Chuck E Cheese. We wanted to give the kids one more night of fun before their baby sister came.

Temple and mirror at the store...37 weeks =)
Having fun at chuck e cheese...the last hurrah before the baby.
